Lastly, all that remains is to take the skills test. We can help you schedule your test and even accompany you to and from the testing site.
The first part of the skills test is commonly referred to as the Pre-Trip Inspection or Walk-Around. During this portion, you will perform a pre-trip for the examiner by pointing to or touching the required components and clearly explaining what you are inspecting each item for, as specified by your state. This includes an inspection inside the cab, a brake check (either air or hydraulic), and a walk-around inspection of the vehicle’s exterior.
With our in-depth knowledge of what is required to pass — combined with personalized one-on-one instruction — we will equip you with everything you need to approach the test with confidence.
The second part of the skills test is commonly referred to as the Backing Test, even though many states include maneuvers that also involve pulling forward. It is conducted on a closed course and requires you to perform specific maneuvers while avoiding boundary lines or cones. The exact maneuvers will vary depending on the state in which you take the test.
We are familiar with the state-specific requirements and will work with you until you are comfortable and confident performing any maneuver that may be required.
The final portion of the skills test is the Road Test. In this phase, you will be evaluated on your ability to safely operate the vehicle on public roads, as well as your overall driving habits. The test follows a predetermined route designed for entry-level drivers, incorporating both city and highway driving without being unnecessarily difficult.
We have the knowledge and experience to provide you with the best possible instruction on how to safely operate a commercial vehicle. We also understand what examiners are looking for in a driver. This ensures you are fully prepared to pass your road test and continue driving safely into your future.
